There have been a number of questions about min/required specs, so here they are.
System Requirements
Minimum:
Operating System: Windows® 2000/XP/Vista(TM)
CPU: 2.0 GHz Pentium® 4 RAM: 768 MB RAM CD-ROM: 4x (or PC DVD-ROM Drive) Video: DirectX(R) 9 Compatible Graphics Card (Radeon(R) 9500, GeForce(R) 5800) Sound: 16 Bit Sound Card DirectX(R) 9.0c Hard Disk Space: 3 GB Available Input: Keyboard, Mouse and Speakers Recommended: Operating System: Windows® 2000/XP/Vista(TM)
CPU: 2.6 GHz Pentium® 4 RAM: 1 GB RAM CD-ROM: 4x (or PC DVD-ROM Drive) Video: DirectX(R) 9 Compatible Graphics Card (Radeon(R) x800, GeForce(R) 6800) Sound: 3D Compatible Sound Card With Support For EAX 3.0 DirectX(R) 9.0c Hard Disk Space: 3 GB Available Input: Keyboard, Mouse and 5.1 Speakers For those with questions on optimum game settings, the Performance and Benchmark forum can be found here. Keep in mind that every system is different and performance will vary even on rigs with similar hardware. The best advice is to simply start with low settings and gradually increase them, running the benchmark each time to gauge performance.

I agree. Of course, they could just look at the bottom of the box or actually open the manual.

They could, but buying a game without knowing the specs is rather silly. Now they can check before they get to the store.

I sometimes play SF:RU in my spare time. I've found out that game runs perfectly on my laptop Lenovo 3000 with Intel Dual Core and only 1.46 GHz. |

No minimum requirements are set in stone. They're meant as a guide for those wanting to buy the game. Depending on your config, many games may run fine... its just that the Devs dont support playing the game below the min specs, so you cant expect much help with any problems you may encounter.
Also, the specs say P4 2.0. The fact yours is dual core may be helping. Edited by Goffik - 10 Mar 2008 at 15:17 |

However, try to borrow the game first from somebody and see if it does work... Also, if it works Shader 2.0 is max for G965 (but probably will work smoothly only with Shader 1.4 enabled). See this link as a starting point for the latest driver (should have T&L HW enabled): http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intelg965/sb/CS-025665.htm Good luck! |

Remember, Dual-Core machines are running TWO cores at the specified speed. In your case, two cores, each running at 1.46 Ghz, which gives you a comparable speed of 2+ Ghz. Your machine's processor is actually closer to the recommended specs.
