The two people back to back icon is actually to show how many nanobots you have (2 in your example) and the total number you can carry (3). Upgrade the Armor catagory on a ship to increase the max you can carry. Use the Backspace key to use nanobots and heal up armor.
 
Off the top of my head...
 
Number Keypad 4 will toggle through shooting just one gun or both guns of you have more then 1 installed.
 
Number Keypad 5 toggles through missile slots if you have more then one type installed or you can choose to fire both too.
 
Number Keypad 1 will toggle through what objects to show on your hud scanner. There are quite a few catagories to choose from.
 
Number Keypad 2 will toggle shields forward/aft or evenly.
 
The , key will toggle three gun modes which I honestly don't recall what the difference is but try them out and see wich one feels right for you. :)
 
And finally, use the Y key to use some of your sheild power to make an EMP that will destroy missles when they're about to hit you. I think you can get your upgrades level high enough eventually where you will actually see the missle distance on the hud, but I don't recall what upgrade helps with that.
 
Thats all I can think of right now, hope that helps.  Don't forget you can always change the keys if they're assigned to something you can't use correctly. Just use the Options button on the startup app that pops up before you enter the game.

I'm having unbelievable frustration trying to find any information on how to play this game.  I've managed to trial-and-error a lot of it, but there are absolutely no graphical-based help files, FAQs or manuals anywhere on the Internet.

I've found the Manual for Novices, which answers a few of my questions, but not what half of the icons on the screen are.  I figured out (after about two days of playing) what the bars on the lower right of the screen are (booster energy, velocity and jump-recharge), but there's an icon which looks like an overhead view of two people sitting back-to-back right next to these.  There are two numbers associated with this icon, 2 and 3.

NOWHERE on the Internet, can I find an explanation, graphic or any other idea of what this icon means, what its function is or what I'm supposed to do when the numbers change.

Is there a manual anywhere, that shows graphically what each icon, graphic and item is, and how to use it?

The game is fun, but I'm only getting a fraction of it because I don't have a manual that can show me what things are.

Can anyone help me?

Hello,  yesterday i bought game via Steam. When i tryed to customize controls, i have noticed that, apart from a few exeptions, i can't bind controls, because every time when i hit button it goes back to "null". I read that this bug is appering in previous game versions. Supposedly I have brought game up to date to the lates version. How to solve it?

I found in a catalogue file, Strings.str, and there is keymapping. Question, can i asign there keys ?

Well I only bought the game a month ago, and I can"t stop playing it. It is superb. Maybe my expectations are lower than some people, but I find it totally addictive and absorbing. Having real trouble trying to destroy the shipyard in Leo though. Well, back for another attempt!!!!

Forum tot, jein, aber nicht mehr so oft besucht. weil das Projekt eigentlich mehr als durch ist.

Zum Thema:

Das Gate sollte aktiv werden sobald man Pegasus betritt. Hast du alle Patches installiert?

Edit: Die Karte hat ab und an Fehler. Es gibt auch keine Verbindung von Cepheus->Andromeda. Aber der folgende Weg sollte gehen:

Pegasus-> Cepheus-> Cassiopeia-> Trianglum-> Andromeda-> Leo
