You have latest graphics driver? v1.1 w/patch and its english... we fixed the first error - it was a sound card error.  and now were back to the original problem, it gets sound but no video and then crashes, indicating a VPU recover.  Other games immediately get a fatal 3Dream error.  As well, the system file says everything is ok until 75% of the way down until it begins initializing graphics.  It then spews out deinitializing this, uninitializing that, etc, etc... Im continuing to search forums for indications of any solutions.

What version of the game you have? 1.0, 1.1? Hey guys.  I'm not a computer nerd so be easy.  Game crashes on startup; immediately swaps to desktop after only a few seconds and displays an error msg referring to:

AppName: spaceforce.exe     AppVer: 0.0.0.0     ModName: soundengine.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0     Offset: 000033be

Thats all the information it gives me.  If you need more info let me know.

System:
intel 2.66ghz
1.2 g DDR-2 onboard ram
Radeon HD3650 graphics card (AGP x8) w/ catalyst driver software

Do have you navigate long distance in this game? I found out that if you use EAX and place the files in the regular directory AND the subfolder "System" EAX works fine and the sound effects work fine!

I have the Steam version and Vista 64 Ultimate.  I also have an X-fi, and a GTX 295 w/ Quad Core.


I noticed that no matter what EAX is set to, I get sound effects on the main menu, but then once the game loads, I have no sound.  When I then go back to the main menu the sound effects are gone, and I have to restart to get them to come back.

How can I fix this problem?  The game is fun, but not without sound.

I have a problem with the Capitol Ship missions in that every time I choose one the game crashes, anyone know a fix for this? I have the 1.2 patch in game if that is any help.

I'm having the same problem, my video card is the 4830, and e8400 cpu and it does the exact thing you described.  Putting the shader to 2.0 fixes it, but i know both our cards support 3.0... :(
